Students In Artivism (SIA Project)

As we continue to recover from the ongoing crisis in the North West and South West Region, there is an urgent need to provide the youths in the Anglophone regions with alternative and positive ways of engaging and expressing themselves, as well as empowering and improving their lives. The Mike Yanou Foundation and Penboy are launching the Student in Artivism project, which aims to empower young people with artistic skills. Through the arts training, the participants will improve their abilities, self-confidence, and leadership qualities.

They will also learn to express themselves creatively and share their views and aspirations. The project will involve 200 youths from five institutions in the Buea municipality. It will last for 10 months and the best students will have the chance to showcase their talents on various platforms. The project kicked off yesterday in Bolifamba Community, where we sensitized the youths, especially boys, on how to avoid behaviours that could lead to arrest, torture, or harm. We urged them to be responsible and mindful of their actions and surroundings. Do not hesitate to contact us if you want to be part of this journey.
