The North West and South West conflict has had a profound impact on mental health. Individuals directly exposed to traumatic events and heightened daily stressors. This has led to the adoption of harmful coping mechanisms, such as drug and substance abuse, which exacerbate the already challenging mental health conditions prevalent in conflict-affected areas. Raising awareness about the detrimental effects of substance consumption on mental well-being is crucial.

To this effect, we the Mike Yanou Foundation were live at OIC Center to educate the students through a participatory approach on substance abuse and its effect on our mental health. We further outlined better coping mechanism which is advisable and less harmless to the students. They include; Control stress, take up healthy hobbies, take time to reflect, avoid negative peers, cultivate new and impactful friendships, go to therapy, Stay active.
