The Mike Yanou Foundation envisions prosperous communities where every individual has the chance to lead a fulfilling life. Through our Economic Empowerment intervention, they are not just offering temporary aid but are investing in the long-term growth and empowerment of adolescents, widows, men, minority groups and persons with disabilities.
Empowering Adolescents: By providing adolescents with essential skills training, mentorship, and coaching, the program aims to pave the way for a future where young individuals can thrive economically and contribute meaningfully to their communities. One activity we carry out with adolescents is the arts training in which we build the skills of adolescents in arts, oral poetry and drama. We also train orphans in different income-generating activities,
Supporting Men and Widows: Understanding the unique challenges faced by men and widows, the program offers specialized interventions to ensure that these groups are not left behind. From fostering men’s involvement in community development to enhancing widows’ well-being and inclusion, the foundation’s efforts are geared towards creating a harmonious and supportive environment for all. One of our ongoing activities is empowering widows: unlocking their potential to embrace new possibilities project in the North West and South West Region.
Uplifting Minority Communities: We extend our reach to minority communities (mbororo Communities in Cameroon), offering them the tools and resources necessary to overcome economic barriers. Through cash or in-kind transfers, access to finance, and market support links, the program strives to enhance income and assets, driving forward the economic stability of these communities.
Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities: At the core of the foundation’s values is the belief that everyone deserves an opportunity to succeed. We includes persons with disabilities, providing them with tailored support that acknowledges their capabilities and fosters their economic independence.
