GBV Prevention and Response

The Mike Yanou Foundation’s interventions in the prevention and response to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) are multifaceted and comprehensive. the key areas of intervention for the foundation is the prevention and response to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and drug abuse. The foundation has implemented several projects, such as

– Normalizing menstrual conversations among boys: In training and discussions, we focus on the reproductive systems of both males and females, including the menstrual cycle. This gives information on the functions of the different anatomical parts of the reproductive systems and how they function. Men and boys can understand how the menstrual cycle works and how women and girls feel at the different stages so that they can sensitise, make informed decisions, provide emotional and financial support, and link them to appropriate health providers.

-Harnessing men’s involvement in SDG4:  The Mike Yanou Foundation aims to address widows’ needs, challenge toxic masculinity, promote gender equality, and foster social cohesion among community members.
